How to play Lineage II Gracia Part 2 from Linux
This method is not that hard but requires -some- knowledge.
What you will need:
Internet, a Linux with installed VGA drivers, a private server with gameguard check disabled (like RaidFight), Patience.
- Install Lineage 2 Gracia: Part 2, update client.
- Get patched system: http://www.raidfight.com/files/linux/Linux_Gracia_Part_2.tar.gz
- Remove/backup old system and use the one provided above.
- Get Tahoma font, and place it inside ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/fonts – without it you will see no text in game: http://www.raidfight.com/files/linux/tahoma.ttf.tar.gz
- Install Wine. I used wine from Ubuntu repositories working perfect. Try the one from Ubuntu repositories and if doesn’t work use the one from Official Wine Website: http://www.winehq.org/site/download
- Setup Wine, run winecfg and set compatibility mode to Windows XP (not always necessary).
- Open /etc/hosts as root. Enter this: 89.149.255.12 L2authd.lineage2.com
- Run Game

Very good! It really works.
What patches have you applied to system dir to create this: Get patched system: http://www.raidfight.com/files/linux/Linux_Gracia_Part_2.tar.gz ?
You don’t need DirectX on Wine.
It works on retail for me, but they know you use a «hacked» system which is illegal so I can’t guarantee anything.
Heya nekys, Thank you very much for your support.
Your blog is awesome
I would like you ask you to update the Guide for the Epilogue client by the time i newly brought to linux environments; It seems that is should use a «Hacked»
system.
Finally, What do you think cedega is better than wine?
Thank you
Actually same guide should apply for Epilogue, Freya, etc too.
Cedega and all the Wine front-ends are mostly front-ends. Which means that make all the setup, easier. A little reading of WineHQ wiki can make same result as Cetega. Personally though I have bought Cetega although I do not use it, just to support it as an idea.
